No bells, no whistles, just facts
The location is prime with various shopping and dining options within walking distance. The service is friendly, and breakfast offers a great variety to kickstart your day. The room cleanliness can be inconsistent, as noted by others. A mixed experience overall, despite the positive aspects of staff and amenities.

It was close to West Ed.
We booked two Queen sized beds, but when we got to the room there was only one and a pull out couch. There was also not enough pillows for four people and it was not offered when we got there when they seen there were that many people there.

Staff were friendly, room was clean and cozy. Great location - close to West Edmonton Mall, restaurants, power centre stores. My third floor suite faced east towards downtown Edmonton - good view of the city. I ended up paying less than I was quoted on Booked.net. Good value for the money, overall.
There were jacuzzis, but not a swimming pool. The pop machines on each floor wouldn't accept my change. Only the one dispensing cans in the lobby did.

Family with children perfect getaway
The bed was comfy right till the last moment. The breakfast they had was not just part of the deal, it kept us full all day.
It wasn't cheap but still acceptable for what we got.

I liked the location, it was easy to find the staff was helpful & friendly. The room was clean despite the renovations.
The bed was a little hilly, We ate supper at the restaurant, it took forever to get our food and then we had to order pizza after as there wasn't very much per plate and everyone was still hungry. We just had coffee & toast for breakfast service was good then

The hotel is amazing location near shopping and a waterpark, a hit with my kids. We had a pleasant stay with our dog, enjoying the cozy atmosphere and a decent breakfast to start our days.
In my wife's opinion, there should be more pet-friendly rooms available.

The place was fairly clean with an extremely accommodating and superbly friendly staff that wants to work and knows the meaning of service. We had a double room with wonderful window view. The location was good and amazing in a fairly nice area, next to the outskirts of Edmonton, restaurant, and West Ed mall.

My room was immaculately clean and huge, had smoke detectors for safety measures. I appreciated the breakfast served at the restaurant.

I found the Royal Hotel West Edmonton to be clean, modern, and very accessible for seniors. The staff was courteous and attentive. The hallways are wide, and the atmosphere was inviting.
More variety in breakfast options would be appreciated.

The Location Is fantastik if your interested in the West Ed Mall or area shopping. There are several places to eat literally across the street. It can be a slight challenge to get into the hotel depending on where your coming from but its not to bad. There was ample parking. One thing we really like as opposed to some hotels is that the side doors had a card lock that gained you access via your room key so you did not have to walk all the way around to the front! Front desk staff was friendly and served us with a smile (not to common these days). Nice decore in Hotel.
The only thing that really bothered us was we had booked in to the hotel for 2 nights, and by noon after the first day a fellow came to the door and interupted us to ask "When do you think you will be leaving" ? We have stayed in alot of hotels and never heard of such a thing. Was very Disturbing especially since we were only half way through our stay. We felt as if we were an inconvenience or somthing. The Bathrooms are pretty small and dated, Also no Mechanical Bath fan if you like to have the noise of that as a "buffer" it has a roof top unit that is Very Quiet! Not a problem for some , but for others especially young couples this might not be pleasing. There was a fair bit of noise from hallway I attribute this to a large gap under door

ideal base for exploring edmonton's highlights
The hotel is in a prime spot for city walks, and it's just a pleasant 20-minute stroll to the massive west edmonton mall. The sunday brunch with amazing eggs benedict at the restaurant was a good treat to start the day. For a single traveler like me, the staff was really helpful.

The room was modern and clean. The hotel is really convenient for West Edmonton Mall. ($7 taxi ride for us) The bar area was welcoming and nice.
I thought it was quite expensive but so are all the hotels in the area. The photos of it on Booked.net and other websites don't do it justice. They make it look like a motel and it's actually a really nice hotel.
